Hi! I’m Erin, proud mom to Altyn, and the owner behind Sleepy Hollow Rentals!
I self-manage every stay myself, from the welcome text to the hiking recommendations.
My love of the outdoors started long before I ever hosted a guest. I spent years as a law enforcement park ranger with the National Park Service, working in Death Valley, Glacier, Canyonlands, Zion and Saguaro National Parks. Originally from Tucson, Arizona, I eventually made my way to Colorado, and living near these mountains has been a dream come true.
Like so many people, I found that Covid put a lot into perspective. I wanted to spend my time on work I loved and build generational wealth for my son, and opening a short-term rental checked every box. Finding, setting up and self-managing our first home, Moonrise Cottage in Green Mountain Falls, was no easy feat. It taught me I can do hard, scary things, so I did it again with Cherokee Rose, our furnished monthly flat in St. Louis.
These days, my time is split between our rentals and Planet Bluegrass in Lyons, Colorado, where I help put on amazing music festivals. Whether I’m getting the cottage ready for a family’s arrival or helping a festival come together, I love creating places where people make memories.
When I do get time off, you’ll find me hiking with our dogs, knitting or crocheting, traveling, or talking real estate. I also played rugby for 18 years, so I’m not one to shy away from a challenge.
Giving families, friends and loved ones a special place to reconnect is truly the best part of this work.
